2020 FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship for Graduate Level Study

The FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship opens application for an award of US$20,000 to support graduate-level studies. The scholarship is open to different age women and country citizens who are studying Finance in an accredited graduate-level program and possess a maximum 10 years work experience.

FINCAD is keenly aware that the majority of practitioners in the capital markets industry are men, and that the trend to include more women in the industry is not as rapid as it should be.

The field of finance is changing rapidly. For these reasons, FINCAD established our yearly Women in Finance Scholarship.

FINCAD’s goal is to encourage and support outstanding women in the field of finance, particularly those pursuing careers in financial asset management, market risk management and derivatives finance within the capital markets.

FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship  is offered to women who are of any age and national who are undertaking a postgraduate level program majoring in Finance in an Accredit graduate program.

Application Deadline

The application deadline for 2020 FINCAD Women in Finance Scholarship is by June 30, 2020.

Value/Worth

The value of the scholarship is a full funding of US$20,000.

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for the FINCAD Women in Finance scholarships are:

  • Applications are welcomed from female/women citizens of any countries who are enrolled in a post-graduate program at a university accredited by the national or international body approved for that purpose in the country where the university is situated.
  • Applicants must be enrolled and attending the program on a full-time basis during the 2020-2021 academic year.
  • The FINCAD scholarship will be awarded to a deserving applicant who is enrolled in a post-graduate program with an emphasis on finance, particularly relating to the use of derivatives in capital markets and/or financial risk management.
  • Applicants whose field of study does not meet the above description, are not allowed to apply.
  • Applications and all supporting documents, except university transcripts must be in English.
  • Applicants interested in submitting an application will need to follow the given link below and create a user name and password.
  • Don’t forget your user name and password. Always remember them to enable you to edit and save your application before finally submitting it. If necessary, you may need them to login back to continue working on the application.
  • Once an applicant submit an application you will no longer be able to edit it.
  • Applicants shouldn’t submit more than one application form.
  • The system will provide a prompt to confirm you have submitted your application. That means your application has been submitted and received by us. You will NOT receive a confirmation that we have received it by email.
  • Do not attempt to contact us to confirm that we have received your application. Your account will indicate a submission has been received.

Documentation Required

Applicants will be required to attach a number of documents in the prescribed file format (jpg, pdf or gif) with the prescribed naming
convention (Note: Maximum file size is 20 MB). These include:

  • A resume or CV
  • Two letters of reference for the scholarship from appropriate individuals (e.g., professors or other relevant university staff, work supervisors and colleagues)
  • University academic transcript(s) from undergraduate program(s)
  • Confirmation of acceptance or enrollment in the post-graduate program for the 2020-2021 academic year
  • Any authored papers (optional)

Applicant who is enrolled in a post-graduate program at home university with an emphasis on finance, particularly relating to the use of derivatives in capital markets and/or financial risk management are the expected candidates to apply for this scholarship.
