Yale Young Global Scholars Programs 2021 applications are now open for high school students. The Yale Young Global Scholars summer academic training helps students participate an intensive and impactful learning as a future global leader.
The Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) programme 2021 is a summer academic enrichment and leadership program for outstanding high school students to get engaged in the two-weeks academic summer learning program in the world.

Yale Young Global Scholars is an unparalleled academic and leadership program at Yale University, founded on the tenets of liberal arts, renowned for its diverse and inclusive community, and committed to increasing education access.
This global scholars program serves 2,400 students from over 130 countries and all 50 U.S. states, and we distribute over $3 Million USD in need-based financial aid to domestic and international students.
The goal of Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) is to empowers the next generation of leaders by building a global community and designing interdisciplinary programs that foster intellectual curiosity, deepen understanding and inspire creative action across all borders.

Eligibility For Yale Young Global Scholars Programs
In order to apply to YYGS, applicants MUST fulfill all of the following requirements:
Be at least 16 years old by July 19, 2021 (first day of Session III).
Be able to participate in a rigorous academic curriculum conducted in English.
Be a current high school sophomore or junior (or international equivalent).
Be graduating in May/June 2022 or 2023 from the Northern Hemisphere, or in Nov./Dec. 2021 or 2022 from the Southern Hemisphere.
YYGS accepts applications from ALL countries, and offers the opportunity for students to apply for need-based financial aid to students from ALL countries.
Be a first-time participant in YYGS. If you have participated in any YYGS session during a previous summer (e.g., 2020, 2019), then you are not eligible to participate during YYGS 2021.
Session Selection
Yale Young Global Scholars (YYGS) offers four interdisciplinary sessions at Yale’s historic campus in New Haven, Connecticut.
Select one of the session that interest you, Students may attend only one session each summer, but they can rank their preferences for up to all four sessions below on the YYGS online application.

Literature, Philosophy & Culture (LPC)
Politics, Law, & Economics (PLE)
Solving Global Challenges (SGC)
Documentation Required
All students must submit the following application components: We do understands that students come from a wide variety of backgrounds and with different educational and extracurricular opportunities. As a result, the essays and letters of recommendation are the most important parts of the application.
- One 500-word essay and one 200-word response
- Two “fast take” responses (280 characters each)
- Official school transcript
- Two Recommenders (provide two referees who will complete YYGS Recommendation Forms-names, details, relationship status)
- Application fee($60 for Early Action, $75 for Regular Decision) you must click the Finalize & Pay button on the “Review” page for your application to be considered.
- English fluency test scores TOEFL or DuoLingo(Optional)
- Need-based financial aid (optional)
Please Note: YYGS application fees are non-refundable.
Students may submit English fluency test scores if available. You do not need to take an English fluency test to apply for YYGS
Students who would like to be reviewed for financial aid must complete the financial aid section of the online application.
How to Apply Yale Young Global Scholars Programs 2021
Please Note Deadline:
Early Action: November 10, 2020
Regular Decision: January 12, 2021
Step 1: Review the YYGS eligibility criteria.
Step 2: Review the YYGS application required components.
Step 3: Review a PDF of a sample blank application, and start preparing to answer as many application questions as possible.
Step 4: You will need to submit contact information for a parent/guardian, teacher, and/or official at your school. Reach out to them as soon as possible to review the PDF of a sample blank application with you, and be sure to collect the information you need.
Step 5: Start your YYGS online application here (or use the link given below). Be sure to write down your email and password to access the application at a later time after first registration.
Step 6: Completely fill the application form with all details, essays, fee payment and provide reference.
Step 7: Check “Review” page of the application to see if you are missing any required components, and re-visit any pages that require further information.
Step 8: Once You are through with review and re-fill where neeed to be attended to in your application. Submit an application”Submission application button is at the bottom of application page.
Step 9: On your online application Portal, pay the $60 USD Early Action fee or $75 USD Regular Decision fee. All YYGS application fees are non-refundable.
Step 10: If you submitted a completed Fee Waiver request, check your Applicant Status Portal to see when it is granted or denied. If your Fee Waiver Request is denied, then your application will not be reviewed until the YYGS application fee is paid.
Step 11: YYGS confirmation receipt will be sent to your registered email. that indicates the successful submission of your application. emails usually arrive within 24-48 hours of submission
