30 UK Universities Accepting IELTS & Required Scores

If you are an international student interested in studying, applying at UK universities for a degree program among the requirement is proof of English language. A proficiency in English language through English test with scores sent to the university.

IELTS and Score

International English Language Test System is a measure to test your proficiency in English language, if you are interested in studying or working in an English speaking country.
The test is available in two types -General and Academic. The test assesses your abilities in four skills- listening (30 minutes), reading (60 minutes), writing (60 minutes) and speaking (10-15 minutes) All four in less than three hours.

Never forget the Listening, Reading and Writing components of the IELTS Score in UK are completed on the same day, with no breaks in between them. The Speaking component, however, can be completed up to a week before or after the other tests. Test dates are available round the year, for up to twice or sometimes thrice each month. Students must register at least 10 days in advance to the test date.

Candidates are presented the overall score (an average score) from all the skills- each part of test is given a score from 1 to 9 and there is no failing or passing grade in IELTS scores.


How to Take IELTS Test

To take an IELTS a student must first register and choose a center in home country, registeration cost some money : about $200 you can convert to know the value in your country currency.
The results of IELTS are available within 13 working days of taking the test. An IELTS score can be valid for 2 years. Five original copies of results can be sent up directly to Universities for free by the test center.

We encourage students applying at UK universities for degree study to score a band of 6.5 (6.0 in all four skills) above for the top universities and a minimum of 6.0(6.0 in all four skills) for other universities.
