Rothamsted Research International Fellowship 2020 in the UK application is now open. The research fellowship award is to help deliver the knowledge and new practices to scientists from low- to middle- income countries.
The Rothamsted Research Fellowship Scheme (RIFS) is a 6-12 months duration research project co-developed with top senior scientist at Rothamsted and aim to promote the exchange of vital agricultural research skills.

About Rothamsted Research Fellowship
The research scheme is now open to support scientists from developing low- to middle- income countries who want to undertake the fellowship programme in the UK.
The research has been running for several years as agricultural research institute in the world, with the current crop of scientists working on projects in Myanmar, Ghana, Nigeria, and Pakistan.
The idea behind the programme is for candidates to return to employment in their home country where the experience gained through the fellowship can be applied.

Fellow will be provided with the following
- Funds for Research costs related to their project
- Accommodation and subsistence allowance
- Funds for travel between the home country and the UK
- Supervision and training at Rothamsted Research
- Access to world-class research facilities and scientific support

Requirements and Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the following Rothamsted Research requirements to apply.
Be a citizen or be based exclusively in, a low- to middle- income/developing country.
Hold a doctoral status, with at least two years’ post-doctoral experience
Successful candidates to return to employment in their home country where the experience gained through the fellowship can be applied.

- Clarity of aims and feasibility experimental design.
- Relevance to Rothamsted’s Research Strategy.
- Scope for future collaborations between the Candidate and the Rothamsted Project Leader.
- Social and economic impacts on the Candidate’s home country.

Interested in applying for the Rothamsted International Fellowship
Candidates need to make sure that their project idea is in-line with the research strategy at Rothamsted, which is summarised in the link given below.
Candidates must then identify which Project Leader at Rothamsted to approach to develop this idea further.
Candidates may identify the Project Leader either through their own direct contact with that person, recommendations via colleagues, scientific literature searches or through the relevant department at Rothamsted (see this webpage for details of the departments http://www.rothamsted.ac.uk/departments).
Once a Project Leader has been identified, the candidate should complete the (download application form) together with the Rothamsted Project Leader. The application form and further guidance notes should be obtained from the at Rothamsted from this website.
Applications must be submitted to the Project Leader at Rothamsted by 09:00 UK time (GMT) on September 28, 2020.
